About Us
The Leuven Medical Technology Centre brings together a large critical mass in medical technology research and development, and a unique combination of competence and know-how. It was created in 2007 as an intergroup collaborative centre, providing a coordinating link between research groups within the University Hospitals and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven association.
Mission

The mission of the Leuven Medical Technology Centre is to strengthen interdisciplinary research & development and its exploitation potential by the integration of engineering sciences and biomedical sciences.
Research
Leuven-MTC is composed of more than 40 research groups spread over 6 faculties, involving more than 1000 researchers. The activities are focussed on themes of multidisciplinary interaction within Leuven-MTC, in close interaction with industry and other institutes.
Education

Leuven-MTC is closely linked to the Master in Biomedical Engineering and the Master in Biomedical Sciences. It is promoting these masters at an international level to attract top-level students.
Events
The organisation of symposia and scientific exhibitions play an important role in displaying the high-level potential of the Katholieke Universiteit and the and the University Hospitals to the outside world.
